Tesla Cybertruck u-turn

The Cybertruck is probably North America’s biggest stalking victim right now.

Everywhere it goes, there are eagle-eyed fans with their phones out capturing its every move.

Now, the Tesla pickup truck has been filmed doing a U-Turn in a tight suburban cul-de-sac, and even that’s going viral on X.

Posted to YouTube by mignoramus, the videographer follows the Cybertruck as it cruises along a busy highway in Santa Clara, California.

The videographer then follows it closely as it makes a bunch of turns through suburban streets, before finding itself at a dead-end.

It’s the next part of the footage that made its way to X and has since gone viral.

The Cybertruck driver makes a tight left u-turn in the cul-de-sac, showing off the truck’s turning radius.

And for a truck this big, it’s actually pretty impressive.

One viewer even described it as “Alien technology”.

“That rear wheel steer is going to be a lifesaver for that big vehicle in some of these suburbs,” another said.

Some even thought the footage looked so unrealistic it must have been created by CGI.

“This has to be CGI,” one man said.

“It looks so fake. CGI in real life,” another said.

The Cybertruck’s turning circle is proving to be one of the most anticipated features of the EV.

Last month, separate footage of the Cybertruck doing a U-Turn was described as “gangster”

“Never seen a vehicle of this size do this so nimbly!” Raj said.

The video went viral, amassing 760,000 views and more than 2,500 likes.

“Incredible how easy and smooth that seems,” one guy said.

“Four-wheel steering in action! This will also make parking in the garage easier!” another said.

The final specs and pricing are expected to be revealed at Tesla’s delivery event, but we don’t have a date for that yet.

Nor do we have an official release date for the truck.

Or a price.

Fishtailing Mustang skillfully avoids McLaren

This Mustang driver has managed to skillfully regain control of their car after fishtailing on a wet highway.

The footage, which was captured on DashCam, shows the driver surrounded by cars, including a McLaren, when they lose control.

And the next couple of seconds make for some pretty wild footage.

READ MORE! Cybertruck spotted hauling tools in an apparent dig at Ford

The Mustang suddenly veers into the lane to its left, almost driving head-first into the McLaren.

Luckily, the driver of the McLaren reacted quickly and swerved out of the way.

To avoid hitting the supercar, the Mustang driver then pulled the wheel to the right, sending the car flying in the opposite direction.

And in a stroke of good luck, there were no cars to his right when he veered over.

The Mustang remains out of shot for a second or two, and the driver who captured the footage on their DashCam slows down to give them some more room.

When it reappears, the Mustang driver regains control super quickly and manages to blend back in with the normal speed of traffic.

Considering how busy the highway was, and the cost of the McLaren to their left, this situation could have ended very differently.

In fact, the driver’s ability to regain control of the fishtailing car and save it from damage was pretty impressive.

The video by BeastCheng garnered quite a bit of attention when it was posted to Reddit, with people questioning how the driver got themselves into that situation to begin with.

“What exactly is causing the car to spin? Too hard on the throttle?” one viewer asked.

You can watch the crazy footage here!

“Too hard on the throttle, too cold of tires, one or the other, or a combo of both,” someone suggested.

Another weighed in, saying “I assume traction control must be off. But still, such a sudden and violent loss of grip.”

“Jesus, it broke traction at that speed? That thing must need new tires,” said another.

One viewer was just shocked the Mustang driver made it out of the situation without any damage or injury.

“Luckiest man alive,” they said.

Mind-boggling car graveyard hidden behind this home includes a $300k Porsche Speedster https://supercarblondie.com/car-graveyard-melbourne/ Tue, 05 Sep 2023 11:12:34 +0000 https://supercarblondie.com/?p=58922 car graveyard feature image

And the crazy part is the Speedster isn't even the only Porsche here.

The post Mind-boggling car graveyard hidden behind this home includes a $300k Porsche Speedster appeared first on Supercar Blondie.]]>
car graveyard feature image

This car graveyard is home to a long list of incredible cars that, for whatever reason, the owner simply doesn’t drive anymore.

Some are truly rare and valuable, including a vintage Porsche 356 Speedster that’s worth $300,000.

READ MORE: This super rare Jag was sitting under rags in a barn for decades, and it could be worth nearly $400k

The graveyard was discovered behind a normal John Doe home in Melbourne.

It’s unclear when or how or why all these rare cars ended up here.

Maybe the owner is an uber-wealthy hoarder.

Either way, the video was uploaded to TikTok by Carsmelb and according to the TikToker, all of the cars belong to his neighbor.

Among others, we can identify a couple of vintage Range Rovers, a Mercedes 280, a classic BMW 5-Series, a Citroen XM and at least two rare Porsches.

The Porsche 356 alone is worth $250-000 – $300,000, even in this condition.

Amazingly, despite the eye-watering value of these cars, this isn’t the most valuable car graveyard ever.

Not that long ago, an outstanding collection of rare and potentially expensive cars was unearthed in an abandoned church in the Netherlands.

It included more than 230 vehicles, most of which were from high-end brands such as Mercedes, Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, and Maserati.

And then there’s the famous Baillon Collection.

The Baillon Collection was discovered in Western France a few years ago.

It all started in the 1950s, when a French businessman had a dream of creating his very own car museum.

Over the years he accumulated more than 200 rare vehicles.

Most have since been sold.

They were taken to auction in 2015 by Artcurial Motorcars, and the collection sold for $52 million.

As for our TikTok friend’s neighbor in Melbourne, well, apparently he has no intention to sell.

Someone just turned their Lamborghini Urus into a 6×6 https://supercarblondie.com/lamborghini-urus-6x6-conversion/ Tue, 05 Sep 2023 10:38:20 +0000 https://supercarblondie.com/?p=58923 Lamborghini Urus 6x6 conversion

Some vehicles make good donors for 6x6 conversions and some unfortunately don't.

The post Someone just turned their Lamborghini Urus into a 6×6 appeared first on Supercar Blondie.]]>
Lamborghini Urus 6x6 conversion

There are some vehicles that make good 6×6 conversion donors and there are some that don’t.

This Lamborghini Urus 6×6 is the perfect example of the latter.

READ MORE! Customizer transforms 7-figure Lamborghini by covering it in 1,350,000 Swarovski crystals

Pictures of a Lamborghini Urus 6×6 have surfaced online but no detail’s been provided about the conversion.

We don’t know whether that’s a good or bad thing, but it’s left us with a host of questions.

Is it a true 6×6 conversion where the third axle is powered by the engine?

Or, was it simply added to the body to create the dramatic appearance?

Judging by the pictures, the ‘converters’ have made room for the third axle by elongating the roofline.

That, in turn, has created some beasty-looking D-pillars, which throw up an obvious issue – huge blind spots.

Clearly, it’s still a work in progress, as the additional body panels have yet to be color-matched to the original paintwork.

Thankfully, their ‘handywork’ is limited to the rear of the vehicle, as they appear to have left the front untouched.

We’re struggling to make out if it’s a standard Urus or whether it’s an Urus Performante.

If it’s the standard model, it’s powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 making 641 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque.

But, if it’s the Performante, it makes 657 horsepower.

Either way, it’s highly unlikely this Lamborghini Urus 6×6 will match the 0-60 time of under four seconds like the standard model, as it’s carrying so much extra weight.

The thought process behind a 6×6 conversion should be to increase stability, weight distribution, traction, and load capacity over more conventional 4x4s.

Unfortunately, 6x6s aren’t the most nimble of vehicles, and they struggle in tight spaces.

However, in the right setting – like over sand or mud – they’re unmatched.

YouTube Video

What it looks like they’ve done is butcher the SUV in an attempt to create a more attention-grabbing Urus.

But they haven’t exactly made it look better, and it’s pretty unlikely it’ll be any good offroad.

Poor Urus should’ve just been left alone.

The Tesla Cybertruck has been spotted being used as a real working man’s truck.

Yep, despite being ridiculed by Ford’s CEO as a fad for “Silicon Valley people” and not “for real people who do real work”, the truck has been spotted hauling actual tools.

READ MORE! Tesla Cybertruck isn’t ‘for real people who do real work’: Ford CEO

The image, which was posted to X by The EV Guy, shows the Cybertruck with a lawnmower, cooler, and a bunch of other practical tools for the ‘real man’.

True Tesla Cybertruck fans were stoked to see it apparently proving the naysayers wrong.

“Going to be super funny when all the nerds who think this is a weird fashion accessory see people going down the street with their trucks loaded with trash and yard debris,” OgreTruck said.

Others saw it as little more than a well-thought-out stunt from Tesla.

“A bunch of lawn chars.. and apparently it’s a truck,” one guy said.

As hype continues to build for the truck, X is getting spammed with sightings of it right across North America.

The truck was just photographed waiting at a red light in Palo Alto alongside a group of other popular cars, giving us a brand-new size comparison.

Next to a Tesla Model 3, Mini Cooper, and Mazda, the Cybertruck looks legitimately massive.

Not only does it tower over all the other cars in height, but it’s significantly longer too.

It comes after photos were leaked showing the Cybertruck parked next to a Ford F-250.

With competition between Tesla and Ford at an all-time high, the photo caused quite a stir when it popped up online.

“It’s hilarious to me that people think the bed on the Cybertruck is small when it’s simply an optical illusion. The Cybertruck bed is 6ft plus,” one man said.

“The Cybertruck has much more room because it doesn’t need to have a motor in the front. Also, it has a great approach angle for off-roading,” another said.

“The Cybertruck might be a tad shorter. There’s a massive amount of room inside the Ford SD crew cab, I’m anticipating the Cybertruck cab to be more the size of an F150,” said a third.

"My heart is, like, beating fast!"

self driving Tesla

TikToker Brandon Dierickx shared Tesla’s self-driving experience with his mother and her reaction is priceless.

She can hardly believe what’s going on.

READ MORE: Elon Musk is offering free Tesla Superchargers for all electric cars

The clip starts with Brandon’s mother at the wheel of the self driving Tesla, which is actually a figure of speech because she does not, in fact, need to keep her hands on the wheel.

The steering wheel, by the way, is Tesla’s infamous yoke.

The car takes off and Brandon tells him mum to not “touch the gas”, to which she asks whether the car “is gonna stop?”

Good question, we’d be worried about that, too.

Her heart rate goes up when the self driving Tesla takes on a corner, which it can do without any issues at all. “My heart is, like, beating fast,” she says.

We can’t blame her, to be frank.

Tesla first launched its self-driving system, dubbed ‘Autopilot‘, over 10 years ago.

While the early version of Autopilot was basically just a glorified cruise control, the latest upgrade gives it Level 3 and Level 4 self-driving abilities.

And Tesla is working to take it to Level 5.

To clarify, the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) defines six levels of driving automation ranging from Level 0, ie fully manual, to Level 5, which means the car is fully autonomous.

Tesla’s Full Self-Driving Capability (FSD), which is currently in Beta, is Level 4, meaning the car can complete an entire journey without the driver.

Tesla’s Autopilot is not available in certain regions due to regulatory reasons but, as you can see from the clip, it sort of works.

In fact, Elon Musk believes Tesla owners could actually use their cars as robotaxis in the future.

Then again, as ever with Musk, we’d probably take his words with a pinch of salt.

Introducing the brand-new Mercedes Concept CLA Class https://supercarblondie.com/mercedes-benz-concept-cla-class/ Sun, 03 Sep 2023 18:00:00 +0000 https://supercarblondie.com/?p=58745 Mercedes Concept CLA Class front

Mercedes Concept CLA Class front

This is the new Mercedes-Benz Concept CLA Class, an all-electric prototype that opens a new era for the brand.

And everything you see here, from the powertrain down to the operating system of the sat nav, is made in-house.

READ MORE: Mercedes-Maybach takes EVs to crazy new level of luxury

Mercedes calls this a ‘hypermiler’.

This is because thanks to its 800V architecture, the car is capable of driving for 750 km (466 miles) on a charge.

More importantly, it only takes 15 minutes to go from 0 to 248 miles of range.

Exceedingly long charging times are still one of the main issues with EVs, and this puts the CLA in a Class of its own.

Pun intended.

Now, this is a concept car so some of the visual cues you see here might be gone by the time the production version is here.

However, the new low-energy LED lights with the animated star pattern and the expansive glass roof are here to stay.

Mercedes says this is part of a new design language we can expect to see with many of its upcoming models.

Inside, there are two key features we need to talk about.

First, there’s a new infotainment system that runs on an operating system that Mercedes patented.

They call it MB.OS and it integrates artificial intelligence.

Second, and most important of all, Mercedes came up with a new safety feature called Child Presence Detection, or CPD for short.

It mitigates risk of children being left in the vehicle by mistake when it’s too hot outside.

The Concept CLA Class, the name gives it away, is first and foremost a preview of what the next-gen CLA will look like.

However, the Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA) is built on will also be used on a swathe of future models.

So stay tuned.

BMW is reinventing itself with the BMW Vision Neue Klasse https://supercarblondie.com/bmw-vision-neue-klasse-concept-car/ Sat, 02 Sep 2023 10:00:00 +0000 https://supercarblondie.com/?p=58759 BMW Vision Neue Klasse concept car

The brand new concept car is giving us a sneak peek at the next generation of BMWs.

The post BMW is reinventing itself with the BMW Vision Neue Klasse appeared first on Supercar Blondie.]]>
BMW Vision Neue Klasse concept car

BMW just lifted the curtain on its latest design concept – the BMW Vision Neue Klasse.

Apparently, this is what the next generation of BMW vehicles will look like and it says a lot about the direction the German automaker’s heading.

READ MORE! Meet the BMW GINA, a fabric-skinned shape-shifting concept

The BMW Vision Neue Klasse was just unveiled at the Munich motor show.

It might be completely new, but it’s still covered in signature BMW design features.

For starters, it’s got that familiar kidney grille and double headlights.

Then there’s the powerful wheel arches, retractable greenhouse and steeply forward-slanting “shark nose”.

A nice little throwback are the 21-inch aerodynamic wheels, which pay tribute to the classic cross-spoke design inspired by motorsports.

But, at the same time, the BMW Vision Neue Klasse has an almost monolithic body unlike anything we’ve seen from the brand before.

Not only that, but strong indentations at the front and rear, as well as large windows, create a totally new look.

Inside the BMW Vision Neue Klasse there’s plenty of new tech to get excited about.

For starters, it features the next generation of BMW iDrive, which comes with Panoramic Vision.

This projects information at the ideal height into the driver’s line of sight and, for the first time, across the entire width of the windshield.

The next generation of iDrive allows both the driver and front passenger to interact with the information, too.

What’s really noticeable are the number of analogue operating controls, which BMW says have been reduced to a minimum.

Instead, interaction takes place through the BMW Panoramic Vision, the central display, and multifunction buttons on the steering wheel.

Of course, the system comes with the tried-and-tested voice control of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.

Another noticeable omission from the interior design is decorative chrome and leather, which BMW says helps optimize the carbon footprint of the production process.

Speaking of CO2 reduction, the Neue Klasse comes with a fully-electric drive train with sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology.

It’s got two electric motors with 20 percent more juice than before.

Charging speeds and range have both been upped by up to 30 percent, and efficiency has increased by 25 percent.

The BMW Vision Neue Klasse is supposed to be the biggest investment in the company’s history.

No word on when we’ll see its design come to fruition in future model generations, but it certainly signals an exciting new era for BMW.

Tesla reveals all new Model 3 with first major refresh in 6 years https://supercarblondie.com/tesla-new-model-3/ Fri, 01 Sep 2023 10:18:17 +0000 https://supercarblondie.com/?p=58714 new Model 3 feature image

More than 50% of the Model 3's components are new.

The post Tesla reveals all new Model 3 with first major refresh in 6 years appeared first on Supercar Blondie.]]>
new Model 3 feature image

What you’re looking at here is the all new Model 3, with upgraded looks and improved range.

This is Tesla’s first major refresh in six years.

READ MORE: You can now get a Tesla Model Y for cheaper than the average car

The all new Model 3 features a redesigned front end, with smoother edges and slimmer headlamps.

The wheels are new as well.

The same design principles apply at the back, with (much) thinner taillights and a redesigned bumper that makes the car looks less boxy.

Tesla says this is more than just vanity, because the new body is apparently a lot more aerodynamic.

And this of course makes the car faster and more efficient in terms of range.

For the aerodynamically minded out there, the new drag coefficient is 0.219, down from 0.23.

In plain English, this means you now get a boost in range of about 40 miles.

The rear-wheel-drive Model 3 has a range of 344 miles (553 km), up from 305, while the Long Range can now go 421 miles (677 km) on a charge, up from 394.

And the design upgrades aren’t minor.

Inside, you’ve got a brand-new steering wheel, new wireless chargers for your phone and three charging ports with a new 8-inch rear display.

As for the main display, the 15.4-inch touchscreen on the dashboard is now more responsive and brighter.

Performance-wise, you’re looking at 245 horsepower for the base model and 351 horsepower for the Long Range.

Mind you, even the base model does 0-60 mph (100 km/h) in just 6 seconds, and we wouldn’t call it slow.

Tesla doesn’t do facelifts as often as other brands do, they usually just do over-the-air updates.

But this is different because the company claims that more than 50 per cent of the new Model 3’s components are new.

Tesla is so proud of this update it even gave it a name, they call it ‘Project Highland’.

The company hasn’t said anything about pricing yet, but there’s reason to be optimistic on that front.

After all, Tesla keeps slashing prices across the board, and even the range-topping Model S Plaid is cheaper than ever before.

With that in mind, and a bit of luck, the all new Model 3 should still start around $40,000 like the old model.

And that’s before you include the $7,500 Federal tax credit.

New footage is giving us our best look yet at the Cybertruck’s frunk.

The footage appears to have been taken secretly as Tesla employees loaded a number of Cybertrucks onto the back of a Tesla Semi.

After sharing it to X, it’s now getting fans of the truck even more riled up.

READ MORE! Ford F150 Raptor and Jeep Gladiator come up against Tesla Cybertruck in new size comparisons

In the video, which is just a few seconds long, we see a couple of employees standing in front of the frunk and checking it out.

And using the three men as a size comparison, the frunk looks pretty huge.

“Lucky to see the frunk, it should be very useful,” @KewellXi said alongside their footage.

X / Twitter

“That’s a good size frunk,” one guy said, while another described it as “the widest frunk in the industry”.

“The frunk does look bigger here, very wide,” another said.

“Did you get arrested after? Lol this is some savage findings,” said a third.

With two men appearing to hold the frunk open in the video, it also suggests the truck, or this particular vehicle at least, lacks struts or springs to hold it open.

The footage comes just days after a drone captured employees closing and taping the frunk on the back of a lorry.

“Why are these folks being so cautious with the Cybertruck frunk?” one X user asked.

“Fragile materials? Disconnected latch electronics?”

The post prompted some speculation, with people guessing that the frunks needed to be taped down because Tesla perhaps hadn’t finalized the build yet.

There were different theories thrown out there too.

“Seems like maybe the latches aren’t working properly, it’s strange they all seem to be taped,” one said.

“I’m going with disconnected electronics. Looks like pushing against electronic hydraulics,” another said.

The Cybertruck has been spotted on the back of lorry trucks right across North America, suggesting Elon Musk is close to the big launch.

The final specs and pricing are expected to be revealed at the delivery event, but we don’t have a date for that yet.

Nor do we have an official release date for the truck or a price.
