Popular Minecraft YouTuber dies aged 23

The Minecraft streamer and YouTuber known as Technoblade has died from cancer aged 23.

The news was shared by Technoblade’s dad, who posted a touching video on his son’s YouTube channel just a few hours ago.

In the video, titled ’so long nerds’, Technoblade’s father read an emotional farewell message that the Minecraft streamer had written just a few hours before he died.

“Thank you all for supporting my content over the years,” he said.

“If I had another hundred lives, I think I would choose to be Technoblade again every single time as those were the happiest years of my life.”

Technoblade, whose real name is Alex, made a name for himself livestreaming his Minecraft gaming sessions.

Since he started, he accrued 10 million subscribers and more than one billion views.

About a year ago, the YouTube personality revealed he had been diagnosed with cancer and started posting videos with updates about this health as well as fundraising videos.

Just a few hours after his final video was posted, it had already garnered 14 million views and 500,000 comments from fans sharing their feelings about Technoblade’s untimely death.

“I’ll never forget the day I met Technoblade,” one follower said.

“I left work early to play in a Minecraft tournament with him. I barely knew how to play… and the dude still carried us to win the entire event.”

“Technoblade is a legend. From being a massive fan, to one of his actual friends, I can’t describe how thankful I am to have been in his life. I just know he’s strategizing in heaven on how to beat God,” another said.

In addition to that, fans have also been posting tribute videos.

In the video, Technoblade’s father also explained that the proceeds from his son’s merchandise and YouTube revenue would be used to send the Youtuber’s siblings to college.

He said the rest would be donated to charity.
