Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick is giving us hope that the release date of the hotly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 might be close.

⁠We’ve been waiting for ten years, but it now looks like the wait is (nearly) over.

Speaking to CNBC, Zelnick was asked about the release date of GTA 6.

“We leave the announcement of upcoming titles to our labels,” Zelnick said.

“We have said we have a very robust pipeline of titles and we have a great outlook for fiscal 2025 where we’ve reiterated our belief that we’ll generate about $8 billion in net bookings,” the CEO added.

With our Sherlock Holmes hat on, we take that as a hint that they’re expecting to make $8 billion with a game that’ll be released between April 2024 and March 2025.

That’s a lot of cash, and there aren’t that many Rockstar and / or Take-Two titles that can generate $8 billion in sales.

The thing is, there’s still so much we don’t know about Grand Theft Auto 6, including the name.

Everyone’s been calling it GTA 6, or GTA VI, because it makes sense and it’s convenient, but the truth is the game doesn’t have an official title yet.

What we do know is Rockstar Games first admitted they were working on a new GTA game back in February 2022, and everyone’s been super eager to learn more since then.

Somebody’s been a bit too eager, though.

About a year ago, 90 videos showing 50 minutes of game footage were leaked by a British hacker.

The hacker in question is now in police custody, awaiting sentencing along with another hacker who helped him.

One thing we’ve learnt from Rockstar is Grand Theft Auto 6 will have two playable protagonists, a man and a woman.

As ever, players will be able to fully interact with the map, which will transform and update over time as new missions are unlocked.

Unconfirmed rumors indicate GTA 6 could also offer players cryptocurrency integration.

Mind you, we’d take this particular bit of info with a pinch of salt.

In case you’re wondering where it ended up, a video has just emerged of Post Malone purchasing the coveted ‘The One Ring’ card at a games store in Toronto, Canada.

Magic The Gathering player Brook Trafton just sold the card to Post Malone, sharing a video of the exchange to TikTok.

“When I first found the One Ring, the first person who came to mind was Post Malone,” he said.

“I have played MTG since I was a kid and obviously it would be amazing to keep this card. But for a guy like me, being able to sell it is life-changing.

“I just really hoped it would go to someone who would appreciate it as much as I do.”

“This is my dream come true, meeting Post Malone and him buying the One Ring card from me is literally a moment straight out of a fairytale.

“Post Malone, Magic: The Gathering you have changed my life. Things like this don’t happen to people like me, I guess it’s magic. I’m forever grateful.”

Speaking to Dexerto, Trafton described finding the card as a “life-changing moment”.

“Every time I read something or see a video, I get hit with a wave of joy. Like watching Cash Cards Unlimited’s live stream and seeing what he speculates the card to be worth.

“Meanwhile, the whole time I’m smiling from ear to ear with it in my hands! It’s just amazing.”

While the Sunflower singer and the seller remained tight-lipped on the exact price of the card, it was valued at a crazy $2 million.

Post Malone reportedly bought it for well over that amount too.

The comment section of the video, which has already been watched 3.2m times (at the time of writing) went wild with fans of the rapper/singer and MTG.

“For anyone wondering, Post Malone bought the card for $2.6 million,” one man said (a claim which has not been verified).

“I’m glad it went to an actual player. ‘grats man,” another said.

“I can’t think of a better place for he most limited mgt ever circulated than with posty.”

Trafton plans to use the proceeds to “invest and set up my future”.

As Post Malone sums it up in the video, the moment truly is the “the ‘dankest sh*t ever”.

You’d have to be a pretty avid gamer this much money on a racing sim.

This simulator is made from an actual Red Bull show car, but still, they’re charging crazy money for it.

The Formula One team partnered with Memento Exclusives to offer the racing sim based on its successful RB18 F1 car.

That’s the exact car that competed in the 2022 season when Red Bull claimed 17 races out of 22.

It’s also the car that helped Max Verstappen claim his second driver’s title and, with the help of his team mate Sergio Perez, the constructor’s title, too.

This probably helps explain the price tag.

Ready? It’s $120,000.

To be fair, $120,000 might sound like a lot of money – and it is – but the Red Bull racing sim has been built using the same processes as the actual race car.

It uses official Oracle Red Bull Racing CAD data and comes ready to plug and play, as it uses the latest gaming hardware.

There are actually two simulators to choose from: the Race Edition, costing $90,000, and the Champions Edition.

Whichever you choose, they come with a curved AOC gaming screen and speakers, adjustable gaming pedals, and Z906 Ultimate THX Surround Sound.

They even come with a force feedback steering wheel – a replica of the real deal – with a quick release.

“We are delighted to have co-created a unique sim racing experience that puts drivers in the cockpit of the championship-winning RB18,” said Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner.

“Driving a Formula One car is something most of us can only dream of, but this simulator is as close as it gets to the real thing.”

Hogwarts Legacy is scheduled for release in just a couple of days but fans are already going crazy over it.

The long-awaited Harry Potter video game is a blockbuster waiting to happen, and it is also guaranteed to generate controversy.

In fact, it already is.

Set in the 1890s, Hogwarts Legacy focuses on a Hogwarts School student in their fifth year.

Side note, the character can actually be customized by the player.

As the story progresses, the main protagonist will be able to interact with familiar faces from the Harry Potter world, such as Victor Rookwood, Nearly Headless Nick, Ranrok and Peeves.

Iconic locations from the franchise will also be featured.

In addition to the ‘Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry’, the player will also experience the Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade and the Forbidden Forest.

Developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros., the game will initially be available for PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox X/S.

Later this year, it will also be released for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.

Mind you, reviewers and players who purchased the Deluxe Edition were given a 72-hour head start and have already played the game.

And they have something to say about it.

TmarTn on Twitter praised the playable map, saying “the size of Hogwarts Legacy’s map is UNBELIEVABLE.”

Others said they believed the game would be an instant hit simply because it’s linked to Harry Potter, not because it is actually any good.

TheGemAgenda referenced a game review by IGN.

According to the user, IGN criticized gameplay, characters and storyline… but still gave the game 9/10 because it’s Harry Potter.

WolfNoiseGaming found out you can actually pet animals in the game, writing “you can pet the cat in Hogwarts Legacy. I repeat you can pet the cat in Hogwarts Legacy”.

And for that, he gave the game a 10/10 rating.

So, as to whether or not the game is actually good, we’ll have to wait and see.

Sony Pictures has teamed up with Polyphony Digital to release a Gran Turismo movie.

This is a dream come true, as fans of the Gran Turismo video game series have been asking for a movie since the first game was launched in 1997.

The plot is based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough, a racing driver who quickly rose to fame after joining the Gran Turismo Academy in 2011.

After beating over 90,000 entrants in the Academy, Jann won the chance to race a real-life racecar at the Dubai 24 hour.

The GT Academy was created to give virtual racing drivers the ability to prove themselves on a real racetrack.

And Jann successfully made that jump and actually ended up winning FIA-sanctioned races.

The film stars Archie Madekwe as Jann Mardenborough and David Harbour (Stranger Things, Suicide Squad) as Jann’s trainer Jack Salter.

It also stars Orlando Bloom, Djimon Hounsou and former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell as Jann’s mother.

Filming began in November 2022 in Hungary and wrapped in December.

The Gran Turismo movie is set to hit the screens on August 11, 2023.

About the Gran Turismo video game series

Polyphony Digital released the first Gran Turismo for PlayStation in 1997.

In addition to the main series comprising eight games, Polyphony Digital has released eight spin-offs and a few limited-edition demos.

The Gran Turismo series is the highest-selling PlayStation franchise with over 90 million units sold.

And it is a big deal for automakers, too.

Through the years, several manufacturers developed crazy one-off supercars specifically for the series.

Even Ferrari made one. In November last year, the Italian supercar maker unveiled the ‘Vision Gran Turismo‘.

Despite having amassed a whopping 2.7 billion views on YouTube, Minecraft star ‘Dream’ has never revealed his true identity to his fans – or even his family.

Until now.

On October 3 2022, eight years after starting the channel, DREAM has finally decided to reveal his face and identity to his 30 million subscribers on YouTube.

Dream has been posting videos of his Minecraft gaming sessions for years and his gaming style, along with his narration during the videos, have made him a star – both on YouTube and within the gaming community.

The latest video was posted on his YouTube channel in the early hours of October 3, titled; “hi, I’m dream”.

It lasts 5 minutes and 41 seconds and has garnered 2.1 million likes, 17 million views – and counting.

In the clip, Dream – real name ‘Klay’, tells his 30 million subscribers that he decided to reveal his identity for a very specific reason.

Klay said he wanted to help his best friend and fellow YouTuber GeorgeNotFound settle in the U.S. and possibly collab together.

As you’d expect, Dream’s face reveal on YouTube sent shockwaves through the gaming community.

Many are commenting on the reveal and posting about it on YouTube and Twitter.

One commenter on YouTube also added that it’s sad to think that Technoblade, a Minecraft YouTuber who passed away earlier this year, didn’t get to see the reveal.

Another user commented, “he looks normal, especially for a YouTuber“.

A fellow YouTuber and gamer said: “I did my face reveal at 50k subs and the nerves were insane, I can’t imagine the feeling at 30mil subs”.

Obviously, the gaming community is now talking about Dream YouTube face reveal like mad.

The craziest part about it is that two of Twitter’s top trends in the U.S. at the moment are bacause of him.

Feast your eyes on Mercedes-Benz’ latest concept car.

It looks incredible, but unfortunately only exists in the virtual world.

This begs a question: should the company turn this crazy idea into a production vehicle?

This virtual show car was designed in partnership with video game developer Riot Games for the upcoming League of Legends World Championships.

The wheels are integrated into the body, as is the bubble cabin.

The rear section is slightly larger, wider and taller than the front end of the vehicle.

If we had to draw a comparison, it’d be fair to say it vaguely looks like the Vision ATVR Concept that Mercedes-Benz unveiled a couple of years ago.

Supercar Blondie’s Sergi Galiano actually had the chance to drive the Vision ATVR.

Unfortunately, both the Vision ATVR and the Virtual Show Car are unlikely to make it to production.

But it gets worse because Mercedes-Benz hasn’t even built a physical version of the League of Legends’ show car.

There is some good news, though.

You can see what the car looks like when it’s moving in Lil Nas X’s latest video ‘Star Walkin‘ – which will be used as the League of Legends anthem.

Secondly, the company is working on an in-car experience inspired by the game, which will be included in the infotainment system of the upcoming Mercedes EQS and EQS SUV in November.

Video games, VR and the Metaverse are becoming a big deal for car makers.

Many brands are now devoting huge funds and a lot of time designing crazy virtual concepts for video games – especially Gran Turismo.

And sometimes, they actually end up building a real-world version, too.

Which is what McLaren did with the Solus GT.

Hopefully Mercedes will do the same with this show car, and maybe we can nudge them in the right direction.

Early footage of GTA 6 has leaked well ahead of the planned launch of the hotly-anticipated game.

Following the confirmation of rumors that Grand Theft Auto 6 would feature a female protagonist for the first time, we’ve now got a first look at them and their male counterpart.

The leak came after a hacker reportedly breached developer Rockstar Games’ Slack and Confluence servers.

The footage originally leaked on GTAForums, but it’s worse than just that for Rockstar.

That’s because the hacker claims to have the entire source code and a test build of the game as well.

And they claim they’ll only refrain from publishing it if they’re paid off by the developer.

An hour of gameplay footage has now been shared on YouTube by user Banden.

It clearly reveals the appearance of the two main characters.

The male protagonist is reportedly named Jason, while the female lead is named either Lucia or Alexandra Cristina.

Shorter clips shared on Twitter also confirm that Vice City will be at least one playable location in the game.

However, it’s worth noting that what has been leaked is clearly very early in the development stage.

What does the GTA 6 leak mean for Rockstar Games?

For Rockstar Games, the leak is an absolute disaster given Grand Theft Auto 6 was only slated to hit shelves in late 2023 or early 2024.

“This is one of the biggest leaks in video game history and a nightmare for Rockstar Games,” Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier said on Twitter, confirming the leaked content was indeed real.

Right now, it’s likely Rockstar is scrambling to reason with the hacker that targeted them.

That’s after the original forum post was edited, and the hacker stated they’re “looking to negotiate a deal” with the developer.

Rockstar’s owner Take-Two Interactive is also fervently placing copyright strikes on footage from the game in an attempt to have it removed from the internet.

Rockstar or Take-Two are yet to comment publicly on the leaks.

All that is for sure is that the companies now have a big headache on their hands.

Car customization in Saints Row

Car customization has always been a big part of the Saints Row franchise.

That’s why this new game features some of the craziest mods the game has offered yet.

To see just what’s possible, Domi and Alex teamed up to design the most insane modified car they could.

They chose the Phoenix, which looks a little bit like a Ford Mustang, and fitted it with a massive wing and some tough off-road bumpers.

Then, with some help from Sergi, they bought a real Mustang and fitted it with identical modifications.

Yes, that’s right – the Supercar Blondie team built a real-life Saints Row car.

With its cut-out roof, lifted suspension, off-road tires, and huge side exit exhausts it’s a crazy thing.

And all of that and more can be fitted to your cars in the new game.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to feature a playable female protagonist for the first time in the GTA series.

Sources close to Rockstar Games claim the game will be centered around a couple inspired by infamous bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde.

Bloomberg claims the female protagonist will be a Latina, although no details about their partner have been mentioned.

The decision comes as part of a rebrand for the GTA developer.

While Grand Theft Auto has always been a game centered around gang activity in a satirical version of America, Rockstar will be dialling back the offensiveness for GTA 6.

The company is committing to not including jokes that “punch down” at marginalized groups.

That’s a far cry from past games, with the company having to remove transphobic jokes from Grand Theft Auto V when remastering it for next-gen consoles.

What else do we know about Grand Theft Auto 6 so far?

While the introduction of a female protagonist is big news, there are a few other key bits of information about GTA 6 that have leaked.

The internal project name for GTA 6 is ‘Project Americas’, with Rockstar originally hoping to include parts of North and South America.

Instead, it’s believed this idea has been roped in and the game will be based in a fictionalized version of Miami to start with.

From there, new cities will be added to the playable map over time; the hope is that this will quicken and streamline the game’s initial launch.

Based off growth expectations Rockstar divulged in documents relating to its takeover of mobile game company Zynga, Cowen financial analyst Doug Creutz says it points to “a likely GTA 6 launch in FY24.”

This at least gives us a window in which to expect the game to launch: between April 2023 and March 2024.

However, Bloomberg notes many insiders believe the game to still be closer to two years away.

It’s understood a group of designers quit Rockstar’s office in Edinburgh, Scotland earlier this year due to the lack of progress on GTA 6.

Earlier this month, it was confirmed that the game had entered development, with planned remasters of old GTA instalments shelved.

Its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto V, is the second-best selling game of all time, so GTA 6 has some big shoes to fill.
