Audi Activesphere review

Inside the world’s most technologically advanced concept car, the Audi Activesphere.

Supercar Blondie’s Sergi Galiano was just flown by helicopter to a top-secret location in the mountains of Austria to get an exclusive look at the Activesphere.

And the tech built into this vehicle is absolutely bonkers.

You can watch the video here!

First, Sergi was given special glasses.

These glasses allow you to see an augmented reality that combines the physical and virtual worlds.

With a wave of his hand, the steering wheel and dashboard completely disappear.

Audi actually incorporated augmented reality into the drive too.

Audi Activesphere augmented reality

With the glasses on, a topographical map brings up traffic routes and weather information right in front of your eyes.

And you can control almost everything in the car with your eyes and hands.

To choose a song, you just have to point to it, and the same goes for climate control.

By rotating your hand right or left, you can turn the temperature up and down.

And to switch between autonomous mode and drive mode, you use your hands to call the steering wheel to you.

Once you have the wheel in front of you, the augmented reality glasses show you a gauge cluster.

Design

This car is a Sportback SUV, offroader, and pickup truck all in one.

One of its most incredible features is found at the back of the car.

With the touch of a button, the sportback transforms into a pickup truck.

The glass panel slides up and the trunk extends out, creating room for two bikes, skis or even an eFoil.

The car is also fitted with what look like teeth at the front and back.

These enable the car to rise and lower by 40cm.

Top five reasons why we love the Mustang Mach-E GT https://supercarblondie.com/mustang-mach-e-gt-review/ Sat, 25 Mar 2023 07:00:00 +0000 https://scblondie.wpengine.com/?p=47840 Mustang Mach-E GT

The Mustang Mach-E GT might not be a "real" Mustang, but there are plenty of things to love about it, namely its performance.

The post Top five reasons why we love the Mustang Mach-E GT appeared first on Supercar Blondie.]]>
Mustang Mach-E GT

The Mustang Mach-E GT gets a hard time for not being a “real” Mustang.

But there’s lots to like about the untamed electric SUV.

These are the top five reasons why we love it.

READ MORE: These are the five coolest features of the brand-new Jaguar F-TYPE 75

5. It’s stylish

The longer you spend with the Mustang Mach-E GT, the more you see how much it resembles the original Mustang.

It’s got all the familiar Mustang bits, like the long hood and muscular haunches, as well those signature rear lights.

It also gets typical EV bits, too, like a blanked-off grille, and a tall upright body.

4. It’s spacious and versatile

Step inside the Mustang Mach-E GT and you realize just how spacious it is.

Because it’s got a flat floor in the second row, there’s plenty of headroom and more than enough space to sit five adults comfortably over short distances.

It’s also a hoarder’s heaven, with loads of storage cubbies for this and that, as well as two trucks: a small one up front, and a full-size one at the back.

3. It’s filled with tech

The star attraction of the SUV has to be its impressive infotainment system.

Sitting in the middle of the dash, the 15.5-inch touchscreen is both responsive and easy to use.

Unlike Teslas, the Mach-E GT has a smaller 10.2-inch display behind the steering wheel highlighting all the key information, so you’re never distracted by the larger central screen.

2. It’s an engaging drive

The Mustang Mach-E GT doesn’t drive like your typical Mustang, but it’s a 2.2-tonne SUV at the end of the day.

That doesn’t mean it’s not fast (0-100km/h / 0-62mph in 3.7 seconds) and fun.

In fact, it’s more sporty to drive than most of its rivals, and feels properly enthusiastic on twisty roads.

1. It’s got good range

Sitting at the top of the model range, the Mustang Mach-E GT gets a stonking 480bhp and a 91kWh battery, returning a range of 498 kilometers (310 miles).

Not only that, but the Mach-E GT also gets 150kW charging, so you can charge up to 80 percent in around 45 minutes.

If you’re in a rush, that charging speed will add 117 kilometers (73 miles) of range in just ten minutes.

This is why the Bentley Flying Spur is a class above the rest https://supercarblondie.com/bentley-flying-spur-mulliner-w12-review/ Sun, 12 Mar 2023 07:00:00 +0000 https://scblondie.wpengine.com/?p=46249 Bentley Flying Spur Mulliner W12

The Bentley Flying Spur is so luxurious in the back, you’ll probably want to consider hiring a chauffeur to drive you around.

Bentley Flying Spur Mulliner W12

If the truth be told, sedan versions of cars aren’t overly exciting – but the Bentley Flying Spur is one exception to the rule.

Think of it as a Bentley Continental GT performance coupe, but with two extra doors, which is a very good starting point for a luxury car.

Adam Gray recently got the keys to a Mulliner W12 version of the brand’s four-door limousine.

READ MORE: Range Rover Sport P530e: Fast, fun, and packed with tech that would rival even Tesla

Bentley Flying Spur design

If you’re the shy and retiring type, the Bentley Flying Spur isn’t the car for you.

Instead, it’s a car with great panache – one that can be turned into a personal statement.

And at five and a half meters long, you can hardly miss it.

The huge vertical-slat grille, bewelled headlights, massive alloy wheels, and illuminated ‘Flying B’ all add to its imposing appearance.

Interior

The interior of the Bentley Flying Spur is about as luxurious as anything on the market, with deep carpets, soft leather, and beautifully finished trim.

One of the Flying Spur’s coolest features has to be its 12.3 touchscreen infotainment system.

When not in use, it can be rotated back into the dashboard leaving a clean fascia or old-school analog instrument dials, mood dependent.

It’s super easy to get comfortable in the front, thanks to the electric seat and steering wheel movement, but the back is where it’s at.

Even the tallest of folk can stretch out, and there’s plenty on offer by way of luxuries, like a fridge, rear televisions, a powerful Naim sound system, and massaging seats.

Performance

The range-topping Bentley Flying Spur has a 626bhp 6.0-liter W12 engine.

That lump drives all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

It’s a combo that makes the car effortlessly fast in a straight line, with 0-62mph (0-100 km/h) easily achievable in just 3.8 seconds.

Bentley Flying Spur price

The Bentley Flying Spur has a MSRP range of $208,600 to $315,200.

Bentley Flying Spur verdict

The Bentley Flying Spur ticks all the boxes: opulent interior, high tech, huge performance, and a comfortable ride.

The only problem you might find yourself having is whether to drive or be chauffeured around.

Hard decision to make.

The new Honda Civic Type R is competing to be the world’s best hot hatch https://supercarblondie.com/honda-civic-type-r-review/ Fri, 24 Feb 2023 14:06:37 +0000 https://scblondie.wpengine.com/?p=44003 Honda Civic Type R

The hot-hatch segment is on fire with the arrival of the new Honda Civic Type R. But its eye-watering price tag might just let it down.

The post The new Honda Civic Type R is competing to be the world’s best hot hatch appeared first on Supercar Blondie.]]>
Honda Civic Type R

The Honda Civic Type R needs no introduction.

The Japanese carmaker is heating up the hot-hatch segment once again, this time with its sixth-generation model.

Adam Gray recently got behind the wheel of the latest Type R to see if it was worth the hype.

READ MORE: Range Rover Sport P530: Fast, fun, and packed with tech that would rival even Tesla

Honda Civic Type R design

On the outside, this Honda Civic Type R looks slightly more reserved than its lairy-looking predecessor.

It still has that familiar triple exhaust setup and a new large touring-car-style rear wing.

But those tacked-on aero bits are gone.

CHECK THIS OUT!

Instead, the panels have a new smooth yet muscular look to them.

Wider and lower than the standard Civic, the Type R sits on 19-inch alloys wrapped in Michelin rubber.

Interior

There’s lots of styling carried over from the base car, like the air vents, nine-inch touchscreen infotainment and climate controls.

But the suede trimmed steering wheel and teardrop aluminum gear lever remind you of where you are.

Oh, and those bright red bucket seats covered in suede are probably the best there is.

Other Type R-specific features include a car build number badge and a +R drive mode button.

There’s now a fully digital dial setup, which changes depending on the drive mode you’re in, with F1-style gear shift lights added above the display.

Another noticeable difference compared to the standard Civic is the fact the Type R doesn’t have a center back seat, instead, it’s got two cupholders.

Honda Civic Type R price

This is where the Honda Civic Type R might struggle.

The model tested had a sticker price of $57,359 (£47,645).

It won’t be as fast on the track, but you could get a Volkswagen GTI for quite a chunk less – and it’d still be huge fun to drive.

Performance

The beating heart of the new Honda Civic Type R is its two-liter, four-cylinder VTEC turbo engine.

It’s an upgraded version of the outgoing cars’s powerplant, producing a potent 325bhp and 308 lb-ft of torque, capable of 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in 5.4 seconds.

The engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, optimized by a rev match control system for precise gear changes.

Honda Civic Type R verdict

There’s a strong possibility the new Honda Civic Type R will go down in history as one of the greatest hot hatches in the world.

Its eye-watering price tag really is the only thing letting it down.

Will it be enough to put the Type R fanboys off, though? Only time will tell.

The ORA Funky Cat is cute, cheap, and jam-packed with tech https://supercarblondie.com/ora-funky-cat-ev-review/ Fri, 17 Feb 2023 09:08:55 +0000 https://scblondie.wpengine.com/?p=43390 ORA Funky Cat

The ORA Funky Cat's quirky appearance is matched by a boujee interior and plenty of tech that'll keep even the neediest of nerds happy.

The post The ORA Funky Cat is cute, cheap, and jam-packed with tech appeared first on Supercar Blondie.]]>
ORA Funky Cat

The ORA Funky Cat is a car wanting to make an impression.

It’s cute, cheap, packed with cool tech, and packaged together with a seriously kooky name.

We recently got behind the wheel of the all-electric subcompact car to see if it’s as playful and fun as the name suggests.

READ MORE: Ram 1500 REV teased in 60-second Super Bowl commercial

ORA Funky Cat design

It’s definitely got a unique look about it, but we’re not sure if we’d call it ‘funky’.

There are hints of Mini and Volkswagen Beetle at the front, and shades of Fiat 500 about the rear.

CHECK THIS OUT!

It’s not shy either, with an elaborate headlight and taillight show when you unlock the car.

Oh, and fish that swim across the screens when you open the doors.

Step inside the ORA Funky Cat and it’s equally as quirky.

Interior

The high-spec ‘First Edition’ model on test came fully loaded with loads of tech on offer.

It has wireless phone charging, a range of cameras for parking, and twin 10.25-inch displays.

On the subject of the screens, they might not be huge, but they’re crisp, clear, and easy to use.

The integrated voice system picks a range of accents, too.

It’s covered in green leather and is remarkably spacious up front for a subcompact car.

Even taller adults will find plenty of head, leg and knee room, although three across the back is a tight squeeze.

And the trunk? Well, don’t make any plans to carry anything large back there.

ORA Funky Cat price

Pricing for the ORA Funky Cat starts at £31,995 in the UK, which equates to $38,897.

It also comes with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty, while the battery has an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty.

Performance

Under the hood (feels strange saying that) is a single motor powering the front wheels with 171hp.

The 48kWh battery doesn’t provide the best range, but 193 miles (310km) shouldn’t be sniffed at.

From a standstill, the ORA Funky Cat will accelerate from 0-100km/h (0-60mph) in about 8.0 seconds and on to 160km/h (99mph).

Those figures aren’t anything to write home about, but the truth is it’s not that type of car.

It’s happiest when cruising around town with the suspension soaking up bumps in the road.

Light steering makes hopping in and out of parking spaces super easy, too.

ORA Funky Cat verdict

All-in-all, the ORA Funky Cat is a stylish and tech-filled EV.

It’s just a shame the battery range is what it is and that the trunk is on the small side, too.

Range Rover Sport P530

Say hello to the new Range Rover Sport P530.

The third-generation Sport goes big on luxury, comfort, and off-road ability.

Not to mention, it’s packed with some seriously impressive technology.

READ MORE: Licensed to Thrill: Behind the wheel of the Aston Martin DBX707

Range Rover Sport P530 design

As well as being an absolute rocket, much of the Range Rover Sport’s personality comes from its looks.

Range Rover rarely deviates from its tried and true look, but parts of this car have benefited from a complete redesign.

CHECK THIS OUT!

There are hints of other Land Rover products, like the Velar-inspired front end, but the rear end has been completely redesigned, with new lights, bumper, and tailgate.

The new features lend themselves to a modern, even futuristic exterior design.

Interior

The cabin is beautifully trimmed, with plenty of sumptuous materials on show.

However, the nasty plastic used for the speaker pods on the doors is a big let down.

The tech on offer more than makes up for it, though, with both the 13.7-inch digital dash and the 13.1-inch touchscreen super-sharp.

The ‘First Edition’ trim comes equipped with everything you could need, want or think of.

There’s wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, wireless phone charging, a head-up display, and full keyless go.

Add to that loads of driver assistance and convenience tech, heated and cooled seats with full massage capability, and you’ve got yourself a seriously comfortable car.

Oh, and there’s a powered tailgate as standard, too.

Range Rover Sport Price

Pricing for the Range Rover Sport P530 starts at $121,500 and creeps up from there with added options.

Power

The V8-powered Sport is as fast as the old SVR.

Its power comes from a BMW-sourced 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 which replaces the old supercharged 5.0-liter V8.

One thing’s for sure, it’s certainly not lost any character.

You find that turbocharging often suppresses noise, but we can happily report there’s still the right level here.

The motor packs a huge punch, too, putting out 530hp and 552 lb-ft.

It’ll sprint from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.5 seconds and go on to a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

Range Rover Sport P530 verdict

The Range Rover Sport P530 does effortless speed and luxury incredibly well.

It’s got tech to rival Tesla and a newfound level of quality from Land Rover.

All in all, the third iteration of the Range Rover Sport is a mighty fine SUV.

The INEOS Grenadier is a beastly utilitarian off-roader https://supercarblondie.com/ineos-grenadier-offroader-full-test-review/ Wed, 08 Feb 2023 00:01:00 +0000 https://scblondie.wpengine.com/?p=42658 INEOS Grenadier

We’ll kick things off by addressing the elephant in the room. Yes, the INEOS Grenadier takes obvious inspiration from the previous Land Rover Defender.

The post The INEOS Grenadier is a beastly utilitarian off-roader appeared first on Supercar Blondie.]]>
INEOS Grenadier

You’d be forgiven for thinking the INEOS Grenadier bears resemblance to the old Land Rover Defender.

The thing is, the Grenadier is a ground-up project that shares no parts with the Land Rover.

We recently got behind the wheel of the new 4×4 to see if it shares the same honorary off-road prowess.

READ MORE: New footage shows the Tesla Cybertruck with a crazy new feature

We’ll kick things off by addressing the elephant in the room.

Yes, the INEOS Grenadier takes obvious inspiration from the previous Land Rover Defender.

CHECK THIS OUT!

It too features a square design, body-on-frame construction and beam axles.

But it’s actually larger than the original Defender, and with black plastic cladding jutting out from the bodywork and off-road tires, it looks even more purposeful.

At over two meters tall, the Grenadier takes some effort climbing into.

It’s worth it, though, as you get 264mm of ground clearance and a useful high vantage point from behind the wheel.

Underneath the hood lies a choice of 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six engines from BMW.

There’s a diesel (B57) with 246bhp and 405 lb-ft of torque, or a petrol version (B58) producing 281bhp and 331 lb-ft of torque, which we tested.

Whichever unit you opt for, drive is sent through an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox.

There’s permanent all-wheel-drive with selectable low range for serious off-roading.

Then there’s the center diff, which is a mechanically locking item, with optional electronically actuated units on each axle.

That brings us nicely on to the subject of off-roading, which is where the INEOS Grenadier really is at home.

Heading off the beaten track, the Grenadier’s progressive-rate Eibach spring and Bilstein damper set-up is compliant over large bumps.

Coupled with impressive wheel articulation from the live axles, it really gives you the sense that the car is maximizing grip from all four tires.

It was hard to find terrain tricky enough to stop the Grenadier in its tracks, as it continually seems to find remarkable traction over even the most challenging sections.

Ok, there was the odd steep slope that slowed us down, but with a touch more commitment, it managed to scramble up the trickiest of inclines.

Heading downhill didn’t seem to phase it much either.

Shifting the manual gearbox control, selecting first gear, and using engine braking with both feet off the pedals, the car crawled along pretty safely without losing grip.

Thanks to approach and departure angles of 35.5 and 36.1 degrees respectively, the bodywork doesn’t catch the when it meets flat ground, too.

We could literally talk all day about how genuinely impressive the Grenadier is off-road, but equally as important is how it performs on tarmac.

Lifestyle-orientated buyers will be pleased to know it fared incredibly well.

We were pleasantly surprised by how composed it was out on the open road, but also by how little road noise there was from the optional BFGoodrich KO2 tires.

Inside

The inside of the INEOS Grenadier is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before.

Ok, we’ve seen the gear selector elsewhere, but there’s a distinct utilitarian feel to the bespoke cabin.

Take the boxy dashboard for example, which trades luxury for a hard wearing plastic construction, and the omission of a traditional gauge cluster.

The dashboard also features clearly labeled and purposely spaced switches for the audio and climate controls, designed for use with gloves or wet hands.

There’s also an aviation theme to the interior, with the inclusion of overhead switches controlling the ancillaries for off-roading.

Should you wish to add your own winch, lights or power accessories, there’s a row of redundant switches pre-wired into the overhead console.

Finding a comfortable driving position isn’t hard thanks to the manually adjustable Recaro seats – and there’s plenty of elbow room, too.

Depending on your intended usage, there are two INEOS Grenadier models to choose from – the Utility Wagon or the Station Wagon.

Designed primarily to carry loans, the Grenadier Utility Wagon has two seats, and is certified as a commercial vehicle.

This particular model comes with a full-height cargo barrier and a full-length flat floor capable of taking a standard Euro Pallet (1,200 x 800mm).

The standard five-seat Grenadier Station Wagon is certified as a commercial vehicle and is fitted with a cargo barrier, to provide the optimum balance between payload and passenger carrying ability.

If you have no intentions or putting the vehicle to work, there’s the Grenadier Station Wagon Belstaff Editions (Trailmaster or Fieldmaster).

Compared with the base Station Wagon, emphasis is slightly more on passenger comfort than loadspace capacity, with more knee room for second row passengers.

There’s a Grenadier double cab pick-up in the offing, too.

The Grenadier we tested was a Fieldmaster (Belstaff Editions) and, as you’d expect from the top-of-the-range model, it comes with a host of equipment.

This includes safari windows, an access ladder, leather trim with heated front seats, and even a Belstaff Fieldmaster jacket included in the sale.

The Fieldmaster also benefits from the ‘Smooth Pack’, which includes rear-view camera, park assist front (PDC), power heated exterior mirrors, heated windscreen washer jets, as well as puddle lamps and ambient door lighting.

How much is the INEOS Grenadier?

The INEOS Grenadier is priced from £55,000 ($66,000) for the two-seat Utility Wagon, £58,000 ($69,000) for the five-seat Station Wagon, and £69,000 ($82,000) for the Station Wagon Belstaff Editions.

U.S. pricing will officially be available later in 2023, as will be the ability to order.

INEOS Grenadier verdict

The long and short of it is, the INEOS Grenadier is impressively good off-road.

Its sturdy ladder chassis, beefy body protection and hard-wearing interior give it a utilitarian feel far closer to the original Defender than the new one.

Add to that how well it performs on tarmac, and you’ve got yourself a recipe for a great allrounder that we think should sell incredibly well.

The BYD Han EV is here to challenge Tesla’s dominance https://supercarblondie.com/byd-han-ev-electric/ Mon, 06 Feb 2023 05:39:15 +0000 https://scblondie.wpengine.com/?p=41750

The BYD Han EV is a karaoke machine and gaming console on wheels. It also has over 340 miles (550 km) of range and is the best-selling EV in the world.

The post The BYD Han EV is here to challenge Tesla’s dominance appeared first on Supercar Blondie.]]>

This is the Han EV by BYD, and it’s the best selling EV in the world. .

It comes in with of 340 miles of driving range and incredible technology.

While you might not have heard of it before, it’s giving both Tesla and Lucid a serious run for their money.

Watch Supercar Blondie’s Sergi Galiano’s review here!

YouTube Video

READ MORE: Sony and Honda just unveiled their new Afeela EV prototype

The design language is akin to that of Lucid Air, but unlike Lucid Air, BYD said it used dragons as an inspiration.

Overall, the Han presents itself as a sleek, slender sedan with sharp headlamps at the front, ‘gills’ on the c-pillar, and unique taillights that BYD calls ‘Dragon Claws’.

CHECK THIS OUT!

BYD actually stands for Build Your Dreams and the company decided to apply the full name, not just the acronym, on the tailgate.

A nice reminder for cars sitting behind you at the lights, right?

This car is a tech fest and honestly we don’t even know where to start.

For example, it can be used to plug in a standard home socket.

That means you can stop by the side of the road, plug in your espresso machine and enjoy a cup of coffee literally on the go.

This car is also a karaoke joint on wheels.

Karaoke is super popular in China and other parts of Asia so BYD decided to give the Han its own karaoke mic.

It is slotted in the center console, but you can remove it, bluetooth it, play your favorite song through the infotainment system and sing along.

Sergi gave it a go with Hello by Adele – don’t worry, you can feel free to put that particular part of the video on mute.

BYD HAN EV interior

Open the door, and you’ll find plenty of Nappa leather and carbon fiber in front of you.

And the crazy thing about it is that BYD makes (nearly) everything in-house.

For the cabin, BYD decided to use a combo of touchscreens, old-fashioned buttons and voice activation.

Several features including the power windows can be activated through voice control.

The infotainment screen actually rotates with a push of a button and it can be used as a camera and a video game console.

Yep, this car is a karaoke machine on wheels, a gaming console and it can even take selfies.

BYD HAN EV performance

The range-topping BYD HAN EV delivers 629 hp and it is capable of accelerating from standstill to 60 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.9 seconds.

It has a range of 340 miles – or 550 km.

If you’re okay with a little less power but want more range, you can opt for the Extended Range version, with a range of 376 miles (605 km).

About BYD

Some people may have never heard of BYD but they’re actually the largest EV manufacturer in the world.

BYD sold over 1.9 million vehicles in 2022, half a million more than Tesla.

Price

For now, the BYD Han is not available in the US but it is available in Europe with an MSRP of €72,000 – or $78,000 at today’s rate.

The new Ford Bronco Raptor is here with a lot more power, outstanding towing capacity, and Easter Eggs hidden in every corner.

The post Meet the Ford Bronco Raptor, the baddest Bronco ever made appeared first on Supercar Blondie.]]>
Ford Bronco Raptor, feature image

This is the new Ford Bronco Raptor, the most powerful Bronco ever made.

Not only is it the most powerful Bronco ever, it’s also the meanest-looking.

Ford has also planted Easter Eggs in every corner.

Supercar Blondie’s very own Tuesday Le Roux got her hands on it, watch her review here!

YouTube Video

READ MORE: This Ford Bronco has been transformed into a 6×6 BEAST

At the front, you’ve got a new massive Ford grille and new custom orange headlamps designed exclusively for this model.

It’s also got special fog lights and off-roading lights.

It is actually illegal to use them on a road, which is why Ford fitted a cap to cover them when you’re not on sand, dirt, mud or snow.

CHECK THIS OUT!

In order to make it off-road-ready, Ford also added custom-made side steps and bolted-in fender extensions.

And if you’re in the mood of a little Dakar-style rally in the desert, you’ll be happy to know that the doors are removable, as is the roof.

It’s so easy, it only took us about 30 seconds to do it.

And probably a few attempts but we’ll gloss over that.

The wheels are massive, measuring 37 inches, and because they’re so big, Ford decided to fit a camera on the spare wheel and extend the rear headlights for extra safety.

Obviously, you also get parking assist and blind spot monitors.

Ford ‘planted’ several Easter Eggs to make this car feel even more special.

Two of them are in the trunk.

There’s a secret compartment under the floor and a ‘Raptor’ logo that you can only read in reverse.

Why? That’s because Ford wants the driver to be able to read it from the rear view mirror when they’re at the wheel.

Then you’ve got four dates printed on the side of the hood vents, one for each year Bronco won the Baja desert race.

Last but not least, there are three miniaturized silhouettes representing the history of the Bronco above the fuel filler cap.

The cabin was also upgraded with the addition of a full cage roll bar.

The seats are upholstered using a combination of vynil and leather, and decorated with what Ford calls ‘Code Orange’ accents.

The instrument cluster is now completely digital, as of course is the 12-inch infotainment screen located on the dashboard.

On the center console, you’ll find a drive mode selector, which includes a driving mode called ‘G.O.A.T’.

Ford says this stands for ‘Goes Over All Terrain’, but we know what it truly stands for.

Greatest Of All Time.

Design

You can’t help but notice the large gloss piano black kidney grille at the front of the car, which is sealed because – obviously – it’s an electric version of the 7 Series.

What really stands out on the BMW i7, though, are the Swarovski crystal daytime running lights that have a ‘heartbeat’ effect to them or, as BMW puts it, an “iconic glow”.

CHECK THIS OUT!

Tucked beneath the daytime running lights are the car’s main headlights, which appear almost concealed.

This particular model, the BMW i7 xDrive60 M Sport Pro, features a host of extras.

They include 21-inch alloys wheels, gloss black trim, tinted windows, and M Sport brakes with dark blue calipers.

Renowned for being luxurious, the 7 Series is typically used by executives, celebrities and politicians.

But this model looks distinctly sporty and aggressive.

This could have something to do with the fact it’s an M Sport model, which means it’s got a gloss black diffuser and lip spoiler.

Another feature of this top-of-the-range model are automatic doors which, as crazy as it sounds, can be opened in several different ways both from the outside and inside.

It’s hard to put into words how cool these doors are, so make sure you watch the video to see them in action.

BMW i7 interior

Moving to the inside of the BMW i7, immediately you’re greeted by swathes of Amarone Merino leather.

From the ‘Master Chair’, as a rear-seat passenger, you can control a variety of functions, including climate control and electric blinds via a touchscreen built into the door.

Not only that, but the rear seats recline, have heating and cooling, and massage functions.

What’s more, when you’re fully reclined in the lounge seats, you can use the touchscreen control to unveil a 31-inch theater screen which folds down from the roof.

Perfect for catching the latest Netflix series or watching the latest Supercar Blondie video on YouTube.

It’s not just the rear-seat passengers who get the special treatment either.

Up front, the leather dash features a curved display with a 12.1-inch gauge cluster and 14.2-inch infotainment screen.

The dash is also inlaid with real wood and a crystalline glass look interaction bar, which is controlled by sweeping left or right, or by pressing to open and close the doors.

Performance

The BMW i7 xDrive 60 M Sport Pro tested is both all-electric and all-wheel drive.

That electric engine produces 544 hp and can accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.7 seconds.

According to BMW, it’s capable of between 367 and 374 miles range (~590-600 km), and has a charging time of 34 minutes (10 – 80 percent).

BMW i7 price

The BMW i7 starts from $119,300, however, the M Sport Pro model tested is priced from $169,269

The M Sport Pro model is currently only available in Europe.
